A small, eclectic art gallery and shop in the Shipwreck landing shopping area just south of Coral Bay proper where you can find some very unique island-art.
Pizzabar in Paradise
Open in-season, Tuesday through Saturdays from 4p - 9p, this Boston-style Pizza bar has pizza, calzones, salad, beer, wine and cocktails in the Shipwreck Landing area on the southern end of Coral Bay. Perfect for an afternoon stop after a hike out Ram Head and an afternoon on a secluded beach at the end of the road.
Caribbean Oasis
Ekaete Pink Corner
Pronounced “‘Eh-Kay-Et-A,’ this new “Local Restaurant” has a selection of Paté for drive up, a full bar, as well as lunch and dinner (not in storm season) daily. They have homemade ice cream and fruit smoothies too! Consider stopping by for a morning snack on the way out to Lameshur, or for lunch or dinner on the way back through Coral Bay.
They have a great outdoor bar and a very cute and comfortable indoor dining room w/ goat & chicken curry,
South Haulover Beach
Just south of North Haulover Beach and on the other side of the road, the sandy beach is worth the drive out to the East End to get some serious private beach time. South Haulover’s water is strikingly blue, with reefs on both sides of a deeper channel coming in the center.
North Haulover Beach
North Haulover beach has great snorkeling and hiking and you will find it just off East End Road (which is a great drive as well).
Hansen Bay (Vies Beach)
Located right next to the former Vie’s Snack Shack, Hansen Beach is a wonderful spot to get away from it all. Check out this photo by St John beach guide to really appreciate how wonderful a spot this is. For a small fee of $3, they offers parking and a beach chair. Hansen Bay has the soft white silky sand that St John is known for. It also has a very easy and shallow entrance so it is a good option for the little ones or those who are not great swimmers. Most days it also offers lots of protection from big waves but, make sure you bring lots of sunscreen as there is one large area with shade up near the picnic tables.
Often moored off the beach is the new floating taco bar Lime Out. Due to safety concerns they do not let you swim out, but there are plenty of kayaks and SUPS for rent on the beach.
Because this is a private beach, there are some other fun things: pickup barbecues on some Sundays and dogs are allowed (always on their leash).
Grootpan Bay
The nearly sand-free beach is actually covered in small, smooth pebbles and stones and sits just south of a large salt pond. It is easy to get to by parking in the small area at the east end. Armed with a beach chair, towel, cooler and some snorkel gear, Grootpan is one of the most private beaches on the island. The snorkeling near the beach and along both sides of the bay is excellent and should be experienced.
