wounded veterans program

St John Chaotic Kayak - July 27, 2014

The island community of St. John will be out again in force this year to support

Team River Runner Wounded Veterans Program (TRR)

. In 2013 a total of 32 teams took part in the 3rd annual

St. John Chaotic Kayak race

on Oppenheimer Beach and where they raised over $30,000. 100% of the proceeds will be used to bring wounded veterans and their spouses down island every November for one week of healing in the beautiful waters of St. John.

If you are a St. John business owner or an employee wanting to have your business represented with a kayak team, please join the events on their

Facebook

page and sign up by posting on the wall with your intent to compete. Entry is $150.00 for a 3 person team, 2 paddlers and one water gunner. Each business will be provided with their own online donation page that will posted on the Chaotic Kayak website. Each team will be awarded an additional 5 second head start for every $100 they raise!

This year's event will also include a Stand Up Paddle Board race! Bring your own board and entry fee is only $25 per board. If you are a stand up paddle boarder, please help spread the word about this epic event!

Team River Runner (TRR) was founded at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2004 by Washington, D.C. area kayak enthusiast Joe Mornini who has been hosting trips for TRR members to St. John since 2007. While the group was forced to cancel its 2008 trip due to lack of funds, that will never be the case again with the continual support of the St John community.

Please join everyone for our 4th Annual St. John Chaotic Kayak on Sunday, July 27, 2014. There will be live music, beer tents, food, kayak races, SUP races, raffle prizes and more! This is a fabulous day on the water doing what St Johnians do best - giving back to others!
